The Habit of Thankfulness: A Few of My Favorite Things

Nov 19th- A few of my favorite things...
~Starting a dig and the exciting finding an old shell...
~Some old nails and plaster...
~And a small but pretty piece of pottery...Good Eyes Gwyn!

We've been digging at the site of a house that used to sit on our property
that sits on the old towpath on the Old Erie Canal.
The girls have been digging near the old chimney remains.

Overheard outside by one young archaeologist, "Trench number one has been shut down. We are opening trench number two." Yep they've been watching Time Team (and like any good Time Team in the UK...it's about to rain wink emoticon smile emoticon )

Sept 8th- A few of my favorite things...
~Casually mentioning (once again) to the girlies we have the remains of an old house buried in out back yard after watching Time Team
~And mentioning I have an old map of the area
~And having the girlies help me locate where things used to be 125 years ago in our neighborhood...now they want to dig!
