~Wild garlic mustard beginning to bloom

~Spirea beginning to open its bouquet collection on its branches

~The first spying of roses for the season

~Yellow crocuses poking through the leaves

~Yellow forsythia on the cusp of blooming

~Spying the first of the daffodils in bloom

Jan 28th- A few of my favorite things...

~Sunlight highlighting woodpecker holes

~A crow warming himself in the sun

~Spying a nest from last year still tenaciously holding its own

Jan 19th- A few of my favorite things...

~Spying a bunny mermaid, 

~An adorable Nessie, and 

~A mythical griffin among Lissie's doodles

Dec 18th- A few of my favorite things...

~From one spot spying finials of bronze,...

~Finials of patinaed copper, and...

~Finials of feathers

Dec 16th- A few of my favorite things...

~Sending off a Christmas card with a star Thea made tucked in

~Spying a clue in the background and knowing it arrived safely

~The fun of a hand-written Christmas card in return

Nov 1st- A few of my favorite things...

~Watching November coming to Hanover Square and seeing a flock of starlings not being able to hide so well,

~Finding that the "extra" finial piece on the Syracuse Savings Bank Building is a peregrine falcon with a mate snacking nearby, and

~Spying a pigeon who seems to be glad he was not invited to dinner

Apr 23rd- A few of my favorite things...

~Spying delicate blue egg shells along the towpath

~A bush that caught a maple tree's bouquet

~Tulips on the cusp of blossoming

Apr 15th- A few of my favorite things...

~The first of the forsythia blossoms to bloom

~Clusters of leaves beginning to fill the barren hedges

~Spying blossoms-in-waiting biding their time to shine

Jan 7th- A few of my favorite things...

~Finally having enough snow to try out my cross country skis

~Getting to the towpath before the snowmobilers

~Spying that others have been out on the trail too

~Spying hummingbird clearwing moth enjoying the milkweed this evening

~Spying a busy community centered around one plant

~Spying the next generation hiding from view

May 15th- A few of my favorite things...

~Following Skaneateles Creek upstream to see the remnants of industry past

~Seeing how trees have reclaimed the land by clinging to the shale cliffs all around 

~Spying the next group of spring flowers lining the path to add beauty where there once was barrenness
