The Habit of a Merry Christmas
The key to always having Merry Christmas
is
to realize this holiday
was never about
you,
...your gifts,
...your tree,
...your family.
It's about Jesus...
....and that He came,
bringing light to a world
in darkness!
He is the gift
that came to
to die on a tree
made into a cross
to make
you part of His family.
Merry Christmas!

The Legend of the Starfish
A vacationing businessman was walking along a beach when he saw a young boy.
Along the shore were many starfish that had been washed up by the tide and were sure to die before the tide returned.
The boy walked slowly along the shore and occasionally reached down and tossed the beached starfish back into the ocean.
The businessman, hoping to teach the boy a little lesson in common sense, walked up to the boy and said, "I have been watching what you are doing, son.
You have a good heart, and I know you mean well, but do you realize how many beaches there are around here and how many starfish are dying on every beach every day. Surely such an industrious and kind-hearted boy such as yourself could find something better to do with your time.
Do you really think that what you are doing is going to make a difference?"
The boy looked up at the man, and then he looked down at a starfish by his feet. He picked up the starfish, and as he gently tossed it back into the ocean, he said, "It makes a difference to that one”.

Winslow's Advent Musings: Occupy Advent- Day 9
Winslow loves to bake cookies at Christmastime
(well anytime actually).
But the cookies at Christmas
are extra special.
They are handmade with
love,
sprinkled with colors
as
festive at the light on the tree...
A time where families can remember
how great it feels to do things together...
....like baking...
....and eating!
Take time today to do something as a family...
and make new Christmas memories!
Winslow thinks this is the perfect place to be...
He will guard the cookies....

Winslow's Advent Musings: Occupy Advent- Day 7
Winslow thinks that Charles Schulz
got it right nearly
when he wrote
A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Schultz thought that true meaning of Christmas
was getting lost in the
busyness ....
and business
of Christmas.
He used Linus to set the record straight....
Charlie Brown: Isn't there anyone, who knows what Christmas is all about?!
Linus: Sure Charlie Brown, I can tell you what Christmas is all about. Lights please?
And there were in the same country shepherds, abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them! And they were sore afraid. And the angel said unto them, “Fear not! For, behold, I bring you tidings o great joy, which shall be to all my people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ, the Lord. And this shall be a sign unto you: Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.” And suddenly, there was with the angel a multitude of the Heavenly Host praising God, and saying, “Glory to God in the Highest, and on Earth peace, and good will toward men.
That’s what Christmas is all about, Charlie Brown.
