~Spying snapping turtles laying eggs along the canal trail on our bike ride tonight
~Violins awaiting a musician to bring them to life
~Traveling to far away places through pictures on a rainy evening

~Watching the willows greening on the edges of fields
~Discovering violets staking their claim by the canal trail
~Watching Lissie discover for herself that she really CAN ride a bike all by herself!

~Shopping at a local bike shop, L. B. Lightning Cyclery with the cutest logo,...
~And finding a perfectly fitting bike in blue...
~To ride on the Canal Trail with a new matching helmet in blue

Apr 2nd- A few of my favorite things...
~A spruce and a maple watching the sunset together
~Seeing stripes through the bare branches
~Two small random chairs along the canal trail perfectly positioned to sit back and watch the evening sky show

May 15th- A few of my favorite things...
~Caravaning to see the train stop far down the track on the north track...
~Wait its turn for Amtrak to pass by on the south track ...
~Then slowly switch the long CSX Train onto the south track

CSX stopped on the north track...something is coming from the west

Canadian Maple Leaf Amtrak train heading eastward on the south track

Trains passing...Amtrak heads east.

Slowly the CSX moved westward and switched to the south track and headed on it way...

The beginning of a long switch

And the cars kept coming slowly as they switched sides...then it sped up on its westward journey.

~Finding the first really flowering tree
~A tangle of blossoms against a blue sky
~An enchanted evening walk down the canal path with my Gwyn

~First walk of almost spring looking for traces of winter activity with the girlies
~Building a castle guarded by dinosaurs...I mean fierce dragons!
~First signs of a harvest from my garden is not long off

~Riding down the Erie Canal Trail with the girlies, stopping for a picnic dinner
~Red, White, and Blue...Railroad style
~The interesting pattern our bikes' shadows leave on the road while waiting to see a train
