Winslow's Second Camping Adventure: Day 11

So Winslow started his day off differently today.

It was off to the Indian Lake Movie Theater to see...

"An American Tail: Fievel Goes West"

Free Movie, Free Popcorn and Free Air Conditioning...
What's not to love?!?!

Winslow was happy to learn form the end credits that
James Stewart did the voice of the Sheriff.

Then it was off to explore a little known place in Indian Lake...
the grave of the first settlers of Indian Lake:
Reuben Rist and his Wife.

Winslow followed the trail signs...

Ups the STEEP hillside...

to find their well-tended grave at the summit.

Sadly "Wife" is the only mention of Mrs. Rist name

But it is a beautiful spot...

...with a view of the mountains Winslow has never seen before.

Truly worth the very short steep hike up here!

(Winslow secretly thinks what really killed the
Rists was the steep walk up the hillside)

Then it was off fishing with Gwyn while the others swam at the beach.

The fish nibbled at Winslow's worms.
But while they enjoyed their meal,
none of them wanted to become the meal.

Winlsow was impressed with the prior
offerings to the angler gods on the
power lines above.

Then he went to the beach to see how the other girlies were fairing...

And he came upon another sand compound:
A sand fort in honor of the movie they watched earlier.

He liked his spiffy new flag
and his little lagoon.

He like Watching Thea "swim"
in a few inches of water.

Gwyn and Thea took the to swings .

The Liss wanted to show Winslow she could kick in the water!
Winslow was impressed...
he couldn't kick if he tried!

Shaniah got a ride on a lifeguard's float.

Then it was to the swings to air dry.

It may have been a very hot day, but the sky was beautiful!!!

Then to wind the day back down again,

Winslow went to the dock to watch the colors fade into night.

Winslow found a patch of moss that reminded him of Ireland...

...and a little boggy area.
Adirondack is a interesting lake.
Ant the north end sits floating boggy islands
kept from running around the lake by a chain.
Every once and a while they have to tow an island back to
its confinement.

Winlslow also watch Thea and Shaniah learn to double-swing.
Pink boots make everything more fun!

He also spied a little piece of wood...

...that expresses nicely feeling for these woods:

Love
