Winslow's Second Camping Adventure: Day 8

Winslow loves looking at the mountains on the way
to new adventures.
Blue Mountain looks so majestic.

The Raquette River looks so peaceful on the way into Tupper Lake, NY

...And then we reached our final destination:
The Wild Center!

The window offer a great view of the pond which has
fish, ducks, fish, turtles and more which
even Winslow has fun seeing.

Even the ceiling is beautiful!

After Winslow got his official sticker it was off to the Wild Walk!

But he briefly paused, puzzled by this sign...
...it still looks like a tree to him ;-)

Winslow stopped on the trail for a picture with the girlies.

...And he lead a snowshoe hare to safety...

Winslow thoroughly agrees with this quote to the
canopy boardwalk.

Winslow thinks Robert Frost would approve of the
Wild Walk.

The vies from the tree tops are amazing!
Whiteface and McKenzie are in the distance

The clouds certainly added drama to the sky!

The Wild Walk has a giant spider web to try out...
Who knew spiders had sunglasses and pink arms?

...Winslow was glad there was no real spiders on this web

Then it was over suspension bridges to the other sections...

Inside the bottom of the huge tree
was a baby and momma bear...
...luckily only the baby bear was awake ;-)

Then we went down the staircase from the tree tops to
terra firma

And the views of the Raquette River  did not disappoint....

Winslow was glad he decided to go the extra half mile to the river!
There, Winslow found
that a fan must have carved his initials
in the wood for him

Further down the boardwalk the view of the river were just as lovely.

Winslow thinks there is not a bad view in the Adirondacks!

On the way back...
Winslow was glad that the mushrooms
were brought to you today
 by the letter "M"

But then maybe they were written by a bat...and they are really "W"
for Winslow!

Here is a view of the canopy walk and
the giant eagle-sized nest
you can climb into.

Then it was fun at the log play and build ground .

Winslow tried out his new lean-to.

And continued on with the "W" theme.

Inside there was so much to see and do!

Even the otter gave Winslow a double High-Five!

The girls finished there time there looking at the creatures in the pond.

Yep...Belong...Winslow could easily stay and belong here :-)

Then Winslow looked down, a little turtle cam out to say farewell.

Goodbye little friend until next time!

After ice cream a Stewart's to refortify after a long hike...

...it was time to head back to Indian Lake...
Winslow thinks Blue Mountain doesn't have a bad side...
still majestic!

He also loved this sign stating the obvious along the way.

Then he went back to Adirondack Lake to watch the sun set.

Each sunset is so unique...

...ever changing...

...ever beautiful

Winslow left his footprints in the sand,
a reminder,
Our life is so brief ,
like footprints in the sand,
and
that long after we are all gone
these mountains
will still be
there.
Winslow like that.
