Winslow's Second Camping Adventure: Day 9

Winslow was excite the Lissie could finally get into the water today...
...and so was Lissie!
Gwyn still has to keep her arm out of the water...
but wading is always fun.

Thea was amazed at Shaniah's new ability to float!

Winslow decide to get a live raft ride around the lake!

Then Winslow dried off and enjoyed some sunshine on the beach.

Then it was off into the woods to explore with the girlies.

Robert Frost's, "Whose woods these are I think I know..."
Well, Winslow pretty sure he knows...
they belong to these
little pixies

While Winslow can't find any four leaf clovers
(as these are wood sorrel and NOT clover)

He does feel blessed to have such great guides
on the trail to their secret fort.

Then Winslow sees it...

a fort made from logs they have been collecting!

Winslow promised he wouldn't provide a map to their secret quarters.
But then he was distracted by some puffball mushrooms
and completely forgot its location.

Then it was on to do some evening fishing in the southern third of Lake Abanakee

The lake was calm and views rivaled the fishing!

After fishing with Thea for a while...

Winslow was still drawn to the ever changing sky!

Until he heard, "I caught a fish!"

Lissie caught a fish and Shaniah took it off for her.

Even Winslow thinks she is brave for doing this.
He would take it off for her...
but alas he has no hands....

Good bye little fishy!

Then some loons came out because they heard
there was a possibility of spotting a real furby nearby.

And the sky kept changing...

...the clouds danced across the sky...

And the moon felt like doing a little reflecting.

Winslow thought it was cool to be able to see
"Mole's Moon" too.

Then while scanning the distant mountains...

Winslow helped bait a hook.

Winslow is glad he does not eat worms!
(ice cream is much better)

Snowy Mountain in the distance...

...loons calling on the lake

...spending time with Moriah...

Even a deer stopped to pause when he saw a real
furby, Winslow!

Winslow didn't think the evening's magic could get any better.

He was glad to be wrong....

Winslow was amazed that Thea always caught bright yellow fish....
...and so was Thea!

The rest of the crew had to settle for catching about 10 blue gills!

Winslow couldn't decide which was better,
watching the setting sun
or watching the girlies giggle
as they reeled in another fish!

But what he did know was that he was glad he did not have to eat worms...

Even the fake ones that Thea offered him.
"Nope, sorry Thea, I'll pass," Winslow thought.

But as the sun set lower...

...the waxing gibbous moon grew brighter and dominated the sky.

It was a perfect night to stargaze with the girlies

...and bring another wonderful day to a close.
